Search engines

• Google: it is the fastest and the most efficient search engine. It gives many answers, that are usualy accurate. However there is no "web guide": no selected answer by any human being like by Yahoo!. (Note also that Google is currently the search engine used by Yahoo!.)
• Altavista isn't bad, because it allways find a big amount of websites. But many of the selected sites aren't very pertinent...
• Yahoo!: Yahoo! selects some websites. It's quite useful when you're looking for a site on a simple topic and when you're not looking for many answers.
• Excite: I actualy never use it! But you can allways try it...

News

• BBC World Service Live: world news in English (with RealAudio player).

Free e-mail adresses

• Mail.com. You could forward automaticly your e-mail from this adresse. That was great if you had to "move", to change of e-mail adress (because you're changing your Internet provider, because you're working for a new company or in a new university, ... Now, you have to pay for this service, so you can forget it. You can also select the "name" of your adresse between more than 20 cool names. (For instance: myname@mail.com, or myname@europe.com, myname@rescueteam.com, myname@berlin.com, ...)

• ICQ: I seek you ? Download the ICQ software and chat live with many people on Internet. It's between e-mail and IRC.
